Sec. 16-256e. Recorded telephone message devices prohibited.

  • No person may use any device which transmits an unsolicited recorded telephone message for any commercial, business or advertising purpose to any telephone customer in the state and which continues the call and message after the customer hangs up the receiver. Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be fined not more than one thousand dollars.

History: P.A. 99-286 made technical changes, effective July 19, 1999; P.A. 14-14 increased fine from $500 to $1,000.
